OPEC+ Oil Output Is Likely to Stay Unchanged

OPEC+ producers are expected to leave their November oil-output targets unchanged at Sunday’s meeting.

RoydadNaft –  OPEC+ producers are expected to leave their November oil-output targets unchanged at Sunday’s meeting.

According to Roydad Naft, citing Reuters, an online session of the seven core OPEC+ members — Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, Kazakhstan, and Oman — comes as Persian Gulf countries increase exports that were disrupted for months by the war involving Iran. Most of those countries are still producing well below their assigned targets.

OPEC+ groups the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and allies including Russia. OPEC and Russian officials did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment.

The alliance raised output targets through most of this year but left October targets unchanged.

In September, OPEC+ finished unwinding the 1.65 million barrel-a-day production cut first agreed in 2023.

Disruptions from the Iran war have kept Persian Gulf output below quota.

OPEC data show the seven core OPEC+ producers pumped 25 million barrels a day in August, up 630,000 barrels a day from July but still about 5 million barrels a day below prewar levels in February.

OPEC+ still has another layer of cuts of about 2 million barrels a day covering most members through the end of 2026.

Informed sources said the group needs to finish a review of members’ production capacity before setting 2027 baselines. Those baselines will fix future quotas and affect plans for unwinding the remaining cuts.
