Iran Speeds Phase 11 South Pars Rebuild to Lift Gas Output

Reconstruction work on Phase 11 of South Pars has accelerated as Iran uses every available lever to raise gas production and supply, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad said.

RoydadNaft –  Reconstruction work on Phase 11 of South Pars has accelerated as Iran uses every available lever to raise gas production and supply, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad said.

Paknejad told Roydad Naft that all existing capacity is being applied so that the maximum possible gas output can enter the network. Gains are being pursued through infill drilling and development of gas fields.

A large share of newly created capacity has come from infill wells on the shared South Pars field, he said. New drilling and expansion of producing capacity are being followed alongside other measures to raise supply and use the country’s production potential as fully as possible.

Development of Phase 11 has been pursued more vigorously since the 14th government took office in 2024. The 10th well on location SPD11B has entered production, lifting rich-gas withdrawal from the phase to 24.3 million cubic meters a day, or 858 million cubic feet a day — more than double Phase 11 output since the current government began.

Completing and commissioning that 10th development well raised daily rich-gas production from the border location by more than 2 million cubic meters.
