RoydadNaft –  Work on the PVC2 process license for Arvand Petrochemical has reached 60% and, once finished, is expected to save €40 million and end dependence on foreign technology.

According to Roydad Naft, Mohammad Reza Soleimanzadeh Bidgoli, chief executive of Persian Gulf New Technologies Innovation and Construction Engineering, said localization of the technical know-how has taken a major step. The PDP license for Arvand Petrochemical is 60% complete and will be finalized soon.

The national project, pursued by industry and university specialists, is one of the more important self-sufficiency gains in petrochemicals. It frees Iran from buying foreign licenses, brings a €40 million saving, and opens the way to export the know-how under the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Group brand.

Local production of a PVC license, a first in Iran, is close to completion. The result would remove the need to import the technology and is presented as a step toward industrial independence and sustainable development.
