Iraq Says Crude Export Capacity Has Risen Above 3 Million Barrels a Day
Iraqi Oil Minister Basim Mohammed Khudair said the country’s crude oil export capacity has increased to more than 3 million barrels a day and that Baghdad is planning a path to 5 million barrels a day.
RoydadNaft – Iraqi Oil Minister Basim Mohammed Khudair said the country’s crude oil export capacity has increased to more than 3 million barrels a day and that Baghdad is planning a path to 5 million barrels a day.
According to Roydad Naft, citing the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Khudair reiterated that export capacity now exceeds 3 million barrels a day. He said Iraq has succeeded in exporting 3 million barrels a day since the beginning of September 2026.
On the longer-term outlook, he said the government plans to raise export capacity to 5 million barrels a day after completing strategic pipelines to Faysh Khabur on the Turkish border and to Banias in Syria, and after developing an export terminal on the Strait of Hormuz.
