Shipping Through the Strait of Hormuz Grinds to a Halt

RoydadNaft –  Shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has virtually come to a standstill today, according to vessel-tracking data cited by Bloomberg.

According to the international desk of IRIB News Agency, Bloomberg reported that vessel-tracking data indicate maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is now largely confined to a single Iran-approved shipping lane located near the northern side of the waterway.

CNN also reported that while an average of 32 oil tankers had been transiting the Strait of Hormuz each day in recent days, repeated ceasefire violations and escalating military tensions involving the United States have effectively brought maritime traffic in the area to a halt.

As tensions in the Strait of Hormuz continue to escalate, Brent crude oil prices have climbed above $80 per barrel for the first time since the ceasefire was announced.
