Gas output surge plan launched

The oil Ministry has launched an accelerated program to boost onshore natural gas production, with authorities mobilizing all available resources to increase supply alongside field development and associated gas recovery projects, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad said.
The project manager for the development of South Pars phases 22-24 said: With the start of drilling operations for new wells in these phases in the near future and the completion of the remaining sections, the rich gas production capacity of this project will increase by approximately 4 million cubic meters per day.
A new production well has been brought online at Phase 11 of the South Pars gas field, boosting output from the project to more than 26 million cubic meters of rich gas per day, according to the head of Pars Oil and Gas Company.
Developing compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure is one of the most effective ways to reduce gasoline consumption, a member of Parliament’s Energy Committee said, stressing that past experience has demonstrated CNG’s significant role in managing fuel demand.
The CEO of the South Pars Gas Complex announced the continued stable production of gas at the complex’s refineries, emphasizing the role of integrated planning, goal-oriented management, and the round-the-clock efforts of the staff. He stated that the reconstruction of facilities and the implementation of strategic projects are proceeding at an accelerated pace and with high quality.
Debris removal operations at two damaged gas refineries in the South Pars Gas Field have reached 60% completion following the 40-day conflict, with parts of the facilities now ready to enter the reconstruction phase, according to the head of Pars Oil and Gas Company.
Deputy oil minister for gas affairs said the country faces a difficult year ahead in addressing energy imbalances, emphasizing that the residential and commercial sectors hold significant potential for reducing natural gas consumption.
