Iran Continues Upgrading and Strengthening Safety of Critical Oil Facilities on Kharg Island
RoydadNaft – The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Terminals Company (NIOTC) said Iran is continuing to implement plans to upgrade, modernize and strengthen the safety of critical oil facilities on Kharg Island.
According to Roydad Naft, Abbas Asadzadeh said Kharg’s oil facilities are among the country’s key and strategic oil industry infrastructure, adding that maintaining operational readiness, enhancing safety and ensuring the continued operation of the facilities remain top priorities for the National Iranian Oil Terminals Company.
He added that a range of projects aimed at upgrading and modernizing equipment and facilities, improving safety standards and strengthening operational readiness are currently underway, with implementation being continuously monitored.
Referring to the special conditions on Kharg Island, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Terminals Company said protecting the facilities and maintaining the continued operation of the Kharg Oil Terminal require careful planning, strict compliance with safety requirements and comprehensive preparedness by operational personnel.
Asadzadeh said NIOTC employees on Kharg Island have consistently worked to maintain operational readiness and ensure uninterrupted oil exports despite challenging operating conditions. He added that the development of safety and operational infrastructure will continue in line with current requirements.
He emphasized that the primary objectives of these measures are to increase the resilience of the facilities, reduce operational risks and ensure the continued operation of Kharg Oil Terminal as one of Iran’s most important crude oil export hubs.
