According to Roydad Naft, the move comes as the United States faces a fuel crunch, with diesel at record levels and gasoline prices jumping. The report said Washington has taken crude from Iranian tankers intercepted in the Indian Ocean during Ordibehesht (April 21–May 21, 2026).
The cargo is valued at about $600 million and is now being moved to the United States via the Atlantic Ocean.
