Iran’s Eighth South Pars Refinery Starts 1,542-Job Overhaul
RoydadNaft – The eighth refinery at the South Pars Gas Complex has begun a major overhaul covering 1,542 maintenance jobs aimed at safer, more stable gas production.
Hadi Chabouk, the refinery manager, said the Iranian year 1405 turnaround started at dawn on Sept. 7, 2026, with Phase 20 taken offline and is scheduled to run through Sept. 15, Roydad Naft reported.
Given national conditions and the need to keep gas output steady, this year’s overhaul was planned to minimize downtime and focus on critical and corrective work so essential repairs can be done while safe production continues at a high confidence level, he said.
The program is set at nine days and about 70,200 person-hours. A large share covers inspection, repair and upkeep of critical equipment, process systems, instrumentation and electrical gear, plus corrective and preventive steps to raise equipment reliability and process stability.
Main items include specialist inspection and repair of process and auxiliary equipment, changes to operating routes, replacement of thinned equipment and lines, work on furnaces and electrical and instrumentation systems, and other corrective projects.
All jobs will follow safety procedures, with priority on protecting people and equipment and keeping production going, Chabouk said.
