NISOC Continues Plans to Allocate Associated Gas in Iran’s Southern Oilfields

The production manager of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) said the company is continuing programs to identify, gather, and allocate associated gas, adding that most of the identified volumes have already been assigned to qualified firms and that remaining volumes are still being processed.

RoydadNaft –  The production manager of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) said the company is continuing programs to identify, gather, and allocate associated gas, adding that most of the identified volumes have already been assigned to qualified firms and that remaining volumes are still being processed.

According to Roydad Naft, quoting NISOC public relations, Mohammad Mansouri presented a report on production management’s associated-gas gathering projects at a strategic meeting on the company’s development plans. He said production management is compiling detailed data to prepare the information needed for associated-gas auctions and will continue that work until the volumes are awarded to investor companies.

Mansouri said most of the associated gas identified in recent months has been assigned to qualified companies. In a second phase, the company is now identifying smaller, more dispersed volumes farther from urban areas.

Once that information is complete, it will be submitted to the board of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) so that, after approval, auctions can be held and the remaining associated gas allocated.

He expressed hope that the process would settle the remaining associated-gas volumes in Iran’s southern oil-producing regions and that they would be awarded through long-term projects or auctions.

On long-term gathering schemes, Mansouri said production management plays a central coordinating role for NISOC in the Bidboland project and pursues the company’s issues in correspondence and talks with the investor.

In the Marun area, he said, production management is active on the Joint Management Committee (JMC), follows matters within its remit, and is working to carry out those duties with greater coordination and effectiveness.

He also cited planning and coordination of maintenance and production support for operating companies as another focus of production management. If output falls or equipment disruption is likely, contingency plans are prepared and implemented to support production.
