Iran Issues Permit for Dehloran Petrochemical Urea and Ammonia Project

The managing director of Iran’s Dehloran Petrochemical Company said authorities have issued a permit for the complex’s urea and ammonia project, and that the plan has moved into implementation after some of the main obstacles—including feedstock supply, financing, and letters of credit—were cleared.

RoydadNaft –  The managing director of Iran’s Dehloran Petrochemical Company said authorities have issued a permit for the complex’s urea and ammonia project, and that the plan has moved into implementation after some of the main obstacles—including feedstock supply, financing, and letters of credit—were cleared.

According to Roydad Naft, Hamzeh Karimi said the permit was issued to coincide with the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad and Imam Jafar Sadiq and during Government Week in late August 2026.

He said that after follow-up to resolve the complex’s operational problems, including feedstock supply, financial issues, and the opening of letter-of-credit (LC) bottlenecks, the required permits for the urea and ammonia project have also been obtained.

Karimi called the permit good news for people in the region and for Oil Pension Fund retirees, who are among the project’s shareholders. He said the step is important for completing Dehloran Petrochemical’s value chain and expanding the complex’s product slate.

He added that building the urea and ammonia units can create new capacity in production, jobs, and value creation in the area and allow greater use of local oil and gas resources for higher-value products.

Karimi said that by completing its product chain, Dehloran Petrochemical can become a major driver of industrial and economic development in Ilam Province and western Iran.
