NIOC speeds up oilfield development, flare gas recovery
RoydadNaft – The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) emphasized accelerating oil and gas field development, removing project bottlenecks, increasing production, and fast-tracking flare gas recovery projects as key strategic priorities for Iran’s oil industry.
According to NIOC, CEO Hamid Bovard met with executives of the National Iranian South Oilfields Company to review the status of drilling-related contracts. The discussions covered the availability of private-sector drilling rigs and the feasibility of supplying rigs to the Central Iranian Oil Fields Company by utilizing existing capacity within the NISOC.
Bovard highlighted flare gas recovery as one of the industry’s top priorities, noting that the President has called for the rapid implementation of these projects. He said technical, operational, and management teams across the NISOC have mobilized all available resources to achieve the government’s targets.
The NIOC chief also stressed the importance of strengthening the workforce in line with future development plans, ensuring the timely supply of drilling equipment and materials, and supporting the execution of oil and gas field development projects.
The meeting reviewed the latest progress on ongoing development projects, contracts, and initiatives in the oil and gas sector. Participants also discussed measures to resolve financial and contractual obstacles affecting priority projects in order to accelerate implementation and meet production goals.
Additional topics included expanding the capacity of skid-mounted production facilities, monitoring active contracts and projects, reviewing flare gas sales tenders, and assessing the latest investment agreements for flare gas recovery projects backed by the Persian Gulf Holding.
