ADNOC launches global LNG trading platform in Abu Dhabi

ADNOC has launched a global liquefied natural gas (LNG) marketing and trading platform in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).

RoydadNaft –ADNOC has launched a global liquefied natural gas (LNG) marketing and trading platform in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).

The platform combines the marketing activities of ADNOC Gas and XRG with the trading capabilities of ADNOC Trading.

Designed to improve flexibility and shipping optionality, it will support ADNOC Gas’ expanding LNG portfolio, including Ruwais LNG, as well as XRG’s international gas and infrastructure growth.

The platform is targeting 47 million tonnes per annum of combined marketable LNG by 2035, placing it among the leading global LNG players.

ADNOC said the platform would strengthen its ability to manage and optimise a growing portfolio while reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a global energy trading centre.

HE Dr Sultan Al Jaber, ADNOC MD and Group CEO and XRG Executive Chairman, said the platform would bring together ADNOC’s marketing, trading and shipping capabilities in a single global hub.

“With LNG demand set to grow substantially, the world will need reliable, responsible and trusted suppliers at scale,” Al Jaber said.

“This world-class, integrated commercial LNG platform brings together the full strength of ADNOC’s marketing, trading and shipping capabilities to create a single global hub in Abu Dhabi.”

Rashid Al Mazrouei has been appointed Chief Marketing and Origination Officer for LNG and will oversee the combined equity LNG portfolios of XRG and ADNOC Gas.

He will lead long-term LNG marketing and origination from ADGM while working with ADNOC Trading to centralise marketing activities under the platform.

ADNOC Gas’ existing commercial LNG arrangements will remain unchanged.

The platform is expected to support the optimisation of ADNOC Gas’ LNG marketing activities, including future Ruwais LNG volumes, while complementing XRG’s growing global portfolio.

ADNOC Trading will remain the counterparty for trading activities, with no change to existing customer interfaces.

Shipping will also remain central to the platform’s capabilities.

ADNOC Logistics and Services (ADNOC L&S) has expanded its owned LNG fleet to 20 vessels, including 14 modern two-stroke carriers, supporting growing UAE LNG production and global trade.
