NIORDC distributes over 320m liters of petroleum products daily

The CEO of NIORDC announced the daily distribution of over 320 million liters of petroleum products, thanks to the tireless efforts of around 16,400 tanker drivers.

RoydadNaft –  The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) announced the daily distribution of over 320 million liters of various petroleum products, attributing the achievement to the continuous efforts of approximately 16,400 tanker drivers working around the clock, even in challenging weather conditions.

Mohammad-Sadeq Azimifar made the announcement Wednesday during a visit by Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad to the NIORDC headquarters.

Presenting a four-month performance report under the 14th administration, Azimifar noted that 10 refineries nationwide are currently operating with a combined daily refining capacity of approximately 2.4 million barrels.

He went on to say that the refined products are distributed across the country using a fleet of over 16,000 tankers, 3,000 rail tank cars, and 14,000 kilometers of pipelines.

Azimifar stated that more than 320 million liters of petroleum products are being produced and delivered to consumers daily.

“Over the past four months, the government has delivered 2.2 billion liters more liquid fuel to power plants compared to the same period last year, marking a 50% increase,” the official stated.

He added that in the first four months of the 14th government (started August 1), liquid fuel deliveries to power plants increased by 1.5 billion liters compared to the same period of two years ago.

In the ninth month of the current Iranian year, daily diesel deliveries to power plants reached a significant 50 million liters, as the need for increased production arose due to a reduction in power plant reserves by approximately 1 billion liters at the beginning of the current administration.

Diesel production rises by 15m liters per day

Azimifar reported that the country’s diesel production rose to 125 million liters per day in the ninth month of the current Iranian year, up from an average of 111 million liters in the first five months of the current Iranian year (started March 20).

This was achieved through the implementation of quick-impact projects and process improvements at refineries, the official stated.

He also highlighted an increase in gasoline production under the current government. In the ninth month of the current Iranian year, daily gasoline output rose by approximately 10 million liters compared to the same period last year, with quality standards maintained.

“The first phase of the Bandar Abbas-Rafsanjan pipeline, spanning approximately 450 kilometers, became operational during the past four months, boosting the capacity to transport petroleum products to northern regions,” the NIORDC head said.

In a significant effort to enhance fuel distribution, Azimifar noted that about 2,500 new road tankers and 400 additional rail tank cars have been added to the fleet.

“Transporting liquid fuel is far more challenging than gas, and during this time, approximately 16,400 tanker drivers have been working tirelessly in adverse weather conditions to ensure uninterrupted fuel delivery,” he said.
