NIOC inks contract with local firm to collect seismic data in northwestern Iran

The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has signed a contract with domestic firm Neign Afaq Kish Energy Development Company (TENCO) to implement 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional seismic operations in the north and northwestern Iran over a two-year period.

RoydadNaft –  The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has signed a contract with domestic firm Neign Afaq Kish Energy Development Company (TENCO) to implement 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional seismic operations in the north and northwestern Iran over a two-year period.

The contract was signed between the Head of the NIOC Directorate of Exploration Mehdi Fakour, and TENCO Head Abdolrasoul Aghajani on Tuesday, April 16, Shana reported.

The contract covers an area spanning 900 square kilometers and 1550 square kilometers respectively to collect 3-dimensional and 2-dimensional seismic data in Moughan region in the northwest of the country.

Based on the contract, 15 million euros and 10 trillion rials (about $ 20 million), will be spent to carry out the operations that finally will lead to the clarification of the oil and gas exploratory situation in the region.

At the signing ceremony of the contract, TENCO’s managing director thanked the NICO’s Directorate of Exploration for concluding the contract, saying the two sides have been working with each other for fifteen years to help the oil industry as far as it concerns making progress and providing services.

“We hope that the completion of this project will be another step in the direction of attaining our mutual goal which is the oil industry prosperity,” he added.
