Twelfth Well on Iran’s South Pars Phase 11 Ready for Production
RoydadNaft – The acting head of the South Pars Phase 11 development project said the phase’s twelfth well is ready to enter production and that the last well at location SPD11B in the first development stage has moved into test flow and output monitoring.
According to Roydad Naft, Keyvan Tarighati said drilling, completion, and perforation of the twelfth Phase 11 well were finished successfully. After the well column was lightened with nitrogen, test flow began.
Production capacity is being monitored continuously at this stage so operating conditions and output potential can be assessed, he said. After test flow and acidizing are completed, the twelfth Phase 11 well is expected to reach its nominal production capacity in the coming days.
Bringing new wells on stream is an important step toward completing Phase 11’s production capacity and making maximum use of the shared South Pars field, Tarighati said.
Phase 11 is the newest development scheme on the shared South Pars field. Its development was awarded to Petropars under the new oil-contract model. Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad recently said work to raise Iran’s gas production and supply over the past two years has included an acceleration of South Pars Phase 11 development.
