Iran’s South Pars Gas Complex Prepares for Stable Winter Output

The chief executive of the South Pars Gas Complex said turnaround work at six of the complex’s refineries is finished and that the plants are ready to operate with higher readiness and stable, maximum gas production in the cold months.

RoydadNaft –  The chief executive of the South Pars Gas Complex said turnaround work at six of the complex’s refineries is finished and that the plants are ready to operate with higher readiness and stable, maximum gas production in the cold months.

According to Roydad Naft, citing the Oil Ministry, Gholam Abbas Hosseini said that of the complex’s 12 refineries, six were on the maintenance schedule because of upcoming constraints. The work was completed on timetable and in line with safety requirements and standards. The South Pars Gas Complex refineries are now fully ready for stable, maximum production of the gas Iran needs, he said.

This year’s turnarounds were aimed at raising operating readiness, keeping equipment reliable, and setting conditions for continued gas processing in winter. Preparation of key equipment and strategic facilities at the refineries was pursued in earnest, he said.

A substantial share of the maintenance was done with domestic capacity, the knowledge and experience of the complex’s specialists, and innovative methods. The complex’s central workshop, with capability in repair, rebuild, and fabrication of parts and equipment, played an effective role in supporting the turnarounds.

Using Iranian capacity not only backs continuous production but also raises operating readiness and cuts dependence on foreign sources, Hosseini said. The South Pars Gas Complex puts maximum use of domestic companies, manufacturers, and Iranian specialists first.

With the readiness now in place, he said he hoped the complex’s refineries can put maximum processing and gas output on the national grid steadily and without interruption in the cold months.

Alongside the gas industry’s effort to keep energy supply stable, demand management by consumers and public cooperation with gas-industry workers matter a great deal, he said. He asked Iranians, especially on cold days, to follow consumption guidelines, conserve, and use gas efficiently so the national resource can be available to everyone on a sustainable basis.
