Iran’s South Pars Refinery 7 Posts Two Gains Using Domestic Crews
RoydadNaft – The manager of Refinery 7 at the South Pars Gas Complex said two important results were recorded during this year’s turnaround and that, relying on Iranian crews, replacement of the floor of one amine tank was cut from a planned 28 days to six days.
According to Roydad Naft, Mehrdad Abdi said careful planning and specialist capacity were decisive. For the amine-tank floor replacement on gas train 1, several options were studied to shorten the 28-day schedule. A new work method was designed and carried out, and the job was finished in six days.
That approach saved 22 days, sped up the turnaround, and returned the equipment to service faster, he said.
Inspections of the amine tank on gas train 2 showed that its floor also had to be replaced — work that was not in the original turnaround plan and required parts and equipment to be sourced and prepared in the shortest possible time.
Even so, coordination among specialist units, timely supply of materials and equipment, and a compressed schedule allowed that floor replacement to be completed successfully in four days, Abdi said.
In all, the floors of two amine tanks covering 144 square meters were replaced. He called the two jobs an example of Refinery 7 specialists’ technical and execution capacity in managing time, working fast, and handling both planned and unplanned needs during a turnaround.
