Iran to Phase In Aghajari Flare-Gas Projects Ahead of Winter, NISOC Says

National Iranian South Oil Company will begin staged start-up of flare-gas gathering projects in the Aghajari operating area from October–November 2026 and is trying to bring part of that capacity online before cold weather.

RoydadNaft –  National Iranian South Oil Company will begin staged start-up of flare-gas gathering projects in the Aghajari operating area from October–November 2026 and is trying to bring part of that capacity online before cold weather.

Ramin Hatami told a meeting on priority flare-gas projects that the schemes had stalled for a period, then restarted after priorities were revised and NISOC, Bidboland Persian Gulf Gas Refinery and contractors coordinated, Roydad Naft reported, citing NISOC. Execution has since sped up.

A large share of the projects are in their final stages, and staged commissioning is planned from Aban (Oct. 23–Nov. 21, 2026). The packages are expected to gather about 130 million to 140 million cubic feet of gas a day, creating economic value, extending the oil-industry chain and helping winter gas supply.

Stations that are close to completion are targeted for service in Azar (Nov. 22–Dec. 21, 2026) if fieldwork is compressed, so more gathering capacity is available in the cold months, Hatami said. Besides cutting flaring, the projects would put associated gas to economic use.
