Iran’s Jam Petrochemical Restarts Former Mehr HDPE Unit at 105% of Capacity

Jam Petrochemical’s heavy polyethylene unit 2 (HDPE2), the former Mehr Petrochemical asset, has returned to production after months offline and is running at 105% of nameplate capacity.

RoydadNaft –  Jam Petrochemical’s heavy polyethylene unit 2 (HDPE2), the former Mehr Petrochemical asset, has returned to production after months offline and is running at 105% of nameplate capacity.

The unit had been shut because of operating conditions and other constraints, Roydad Naft reported. Technical work, maintenance and operational coordination brought it back online.

Jam said conditions have stabilized since the restart and output has reached 105% of design capacity, a sign the unit is back in the production cycle with higher operating efficiency.

The restart came while many Iranian industries still face limits on energy and utilities. Planning and technical measures made it possible to resume operations despite those constraints.

Jam’s notice said follow-up and support from the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare played an effective role in returning the asset to production, protecting existing capital and raising economic use of the unit.

Bringing HDPE2 back adds polymer output and can affect Jam’s operating performance and asset returns. For shareholders, the company described it as one of the more important operational events of recent months.
