Iran Begins Reconstruction of South Pars Phases 9 and 10 Gas Refinery
RoydadNaft – The managing director of Iran’s Pars Oil and Gas Company said reconstruction of the South Pars Phases 9 and 10 gas processing plant has started, with plans to restore part of its gas-processing capacity by the end of the current Iranian year in March 2027.
According to Roydad Naft, Touraj Dehghani made the remarks on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the first meeting of the reconstruction project for the Phases 9 and 10 plant. He said the gradual revival of gas sweetening trains, together with simultaneous focus on technical operations, equipment supply, and financing, will make it possible to return a portion of the plant’s gas-processing capacity by March 2027.
Dehghani described financing as one of the decisive factors in advancing oil-industry projects. “Oil is a capital-intensive industry, and executing its plans requires financial resources as well as technical and execution capacity,” he said. Financial backing from Bank Shahr and the technical and execution capabilities of consortium member companies can accelerate reconstruction of the Phases 9 and 10 plant, he added.
The Pars Oil and Gas Company chief expressed hope that, with Bank Shahr’s financial support and the consortium companies’ technical and execution capacity, the reconstruction program would proceed according to set targets and that priority sections of the plant would return to the gas-processing cycle in the shortest possible time.
The South Pars Phases 9 and 10 plant is among Iran’s energy infrastructure damaged during attacks in the Third Imposed War. After debris-clearance operations and technical assessments were completed, the facility entered the reconstruction phase.
With the signing of the reconstruction agreement and the first executive meeting, coordination has begun among Pars Oil and Gas Company as the client, Bank Shahr as the financier, and engineering and construction firms to rebuild the plant and restore its damaged capacity.
