Iran: Attacks on Petrochemical Side Facilities Are Intended to Put More Pressure on the People
RoydadNaft – The Production Control Manager of the National Iranian Petrochemical Industries Company described the enemy’s attacks on side facilities of the petrochemical industry as an attempt to exert greater pressure on the people and disrupt their needs. He stressed that optimal consumption of energy carriers across the country (electricity, gas, gasoline, diesel, etc.) can thwart the enemy’s malicious intentions.
According to Roydad Naft, Saeed Baghbani said on the evening of Monday, April 6, 2026, during the 9 PM news on Channel One of Iranian TV:
The side facilities of the petrochemical industry in the Mahshahr region were attacked on Saturday, April 4, 2026, and those in the Asaluyeh region were targeted today, April 6, 2026.
He announced that his colleagues in the Asaluyeh region have immediately begun control measures, damage prevention, and safety restoration efforts. He added: “God willing, we will soon exit the current situation and return to normal conditions with full safety measures in place.”
Damage to side facilities harms the entire petrochemical industry
The Production Control Manager stated that unfortunately, the damage inflicted on these side facilities wounds the entire petrochemical industry. He continued: “This attack was planned by the enemy with the aim of halting Iran’s petrochemical industry, creating challenges in meeting the people’s needs, and increasing pressure on a nation that continues to resist.”
Regarding the role of the people in maintaining the country’s energy security and countering the potential effects of such attacks, Baghbani said: “These attacks are meant to temporarily disrupt the people’s needs. The enemy knows that Iran derives its power and position from its people. On days when the people are bravely defending the system in the fields, the industry workers and those serving the nation will undoubtedly fulfill their duties.”
He identified the difference between Iran and the enemy as the strong support of the Iranian people, stating: “The enemy knows that we will ultimately rebuild and resolve the issues. These actions are clearly aimed at pressuring the country—especially the Oil Ministry—to disrupt energy carriers.”
Preventing the enemy’s malicious intentions through optimal energy consumption
The Production Control Manager pointed to the steadfastness and resilience of the people during this period and emphasized: “We can prevent the enemy’s malicious intentions by consuming energy carriers optimally across the country (electricity, gas, gasoline, diesel, etc.).”
Baghbani added: “Undoubtedly, just as the people have shown resistance these days, they can support their colleagues and comrades in the industry and help us counter the approach the enemy has taken.”
