Iran seeks to build petrochemical complexes abroad: NPC head
RoydadNaft – Head of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Morteza Shahmirzaei has said the company has put it on the agenda to build extraterritorial petrochemical complexes, especially in neighboring countries.
“The main goal of National Petrochemical Company is to develop cooperation with neighboring and aligned countries to use all the international capacities available in the energy field to increase production and reduce inflation,” Shahmirzaei told IRNA on Tuesday.
According to the official, the focus of Iran’s petrochemical industry is on developing the market in neighboring and adjacent countries, because these countries need Iranian petrochemical products.
“For example, the food security of the countries is not an issue that they can play politics with, so they have to procure urea fertilizer from Iran to ensure the food security of their country,” he explained.
