Iran Gas Chief: Deliveries to Industry Rose by 1 Billion Cubic Meters

The chief executive of the National Iranian Gas Company said fuel supplies to power plants and industry stayed stable in the first half of this year despite lower output at South Pars, and that gas delivered to industry and small businesses was 1 billion cubic meters higher than in the same period last year.

RoydadNaft –  The chief executive of the National Iranian Gas Company said fuel supplies to power plants and industry stayed stable in the first half of this year despite lower output at South Pars, and that gas delivered to industry and small businesses was 1 billion cubic meters higher than in the same period last year.

According to Roydad Naft, Saeed Tavakoli said no limits were placed on major industry, especially steel and petrochemicals, although some of those plants were damaged for various reasons in the third imposed war.

Given the state of the country’s refineries after the recent incidents, that record shows successful crisis management and a stable network, he said.

Comparing the first half of this year (March 21–September 22, 2026) with the same period last year, Tavakoli said the volume of gas put on the network was about 14% lower, but the share of gas in power-plant fuel held roughly steady: 85% this year, against 86% last year. He called that a sign of the gas network’s resilience under hard conditions.

Those figures show that Iran’s gas industry put power-plant fuel first to avoid an electricity shortfall and used its full capacity to keep gas flowing to production and industry so the economy would not stop in difficult conditions, he said.
