Fuel Station Operators in Iran Get a 40% Rise in Handling Fees

The commercial director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said a 40% increase in fuel station operators’ handling fees will take effect on a provisional basis from tonight and that the new gasoline and diesel rates have been loaded into the system.

RoydadNaft –  The commercial director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said a 40% increase in fuel station operators’ handling fees will take effect on a provisional basis from tonight and that the new gasoline and diesel rates have been loaded into the system.

According to Roydad Naft, citing NIOPDC, Hamid Habibi said the stations’ annual handling fee is set each year. After inflation and higher operating costs at the sites, and after joint reviews with the Consumer and Producer Protection Organization, the Plan and Budget Organization, and the Oil Ministry, a draft of the new rates was sent to the government’s economic subcommittee.

Because the final Cabinet decree has taken a long time and station operators face cash-flow pressure, officials decided to use the 2025–26 fee with a 40% increase on an on-account basis, to avoid disruption in service and ease financial strain on the trade, he said.

The provisional handling fee is 900 tomans per liter for gasoline and 530 tomans per liter for gas oil (diesel), Habibi said.

From the start of the Iranian year 1405 (March 21, 2026), the base fee had been paid at last year’s figures. With the new numbers loaded from tonight, all overdue amounts owed to station operators for the difference over the first six months of 1405 (March 21 to late September 2026) will be calculated and paid as product-purchase credit and cash settlement. Final settlement will follow after the Cabinet’s definitive decree is issued, he said.
