Iran’s Oil Minister Answers Lawmakers’ Questions in Parliament Energy Committee
RoydadNaft – The chairman of parliament’s energy committee said two questions for the oil minister remain before the panel and that issues raised by the lawmakers from Shazand and Shush will be examined in specialized subcommittees with the questioning members and the committee’s presiding board present.
According to Roydad Naft, Mousa Ahmadi described the energy committee session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. He said the meeting was held to review lawmakers’ questions for Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad.
Preliminary meetings between the questioning deputies and deputy oil ministers cleared up many ambiguities, and most lawmakers withdrew their questions, he said.
At the end of the session, two questions remained, from Houshang Hadianpour, the member for Shazand, and Mohammad Kaab Omeir, the member for Shush. Given the importance of the issues raised, specialized committees will be formed with the questioning lawmakers and members of the committee leadership so the details can be examined carefully, Ahmadi said.
Under parliament’s internal rules, the energy committee is required to follow up and review deputies’ questions to the relevant ministers. Face-to-face sessions give lawmakers a chance to put their concerns directly to the minister and his deputies and to resolve ambiguities, he said.
