Iran’s Supreme Audit Court Warns Oil Ministry to Fuel Thermal Plants Before Winter
RoydadNaft – Iran’s Supreme Audit Court has issued a preventive warning to the Oil Ministry on timely fuel supply for thermal power plants ahead of the cold season.
The court’s media, international and public-oversight center said it is continuously monitoring the power-plant fuel mix of gas, gasoil and fuel oil (mazut), Roydad Naft reported. It stressed the need for measures before winter to limit a further rise in mazut use, citing environmental effects, equipment wear and higher plant maintenance costs.
After reviewing plant fuel stocks, the court also urged faster reconstruction of damaged South Pars phases. It said the Oil Ministry should give priority to stable, on-time fuel for thermal plants to prevent a fuel imbalance, limits on electricity output and disruption to grid stability.
