Residential gas consumption hits 75% of total usage
RoydadNaft – The spokesperson for the National Iranian Gas Company announced that residential, commercial, and small industrial sectors consumed 635 million cubic meters (mcm) of sweet gas, accounting for 75% of the total gas supplied to the national grid.
Hassan Mousavi highlighted the rise in gas consumption on Thursday, noting that these sectors used 75% of the natural gas delivered to the grid, a 20% increase compared to the same day last year.
Regarding the total sweet gas injected into the national grid, Mousavi stated that 849 mcm were produced on Thursday, with 635 mcm sent to residential, commercial, and small industrial users.
In response to colder temperatures and forecasts of further declines, President Masoud Pezeshkian, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, and other officials issued video and written messages urging the public to participate in the “2 Degrees Less” campaign to promote efficient gas use and ensure adequate winter fuel supplies.
