South Pars Gas Production Reaches 711 mcm/d
RoydadNaft – Natural gas production from the offshore South Pars gas field reached the unprecedented figure of 711 million cubic meters on Wednesday, November 14.
The head of the Operations and Support Department at Pars Oil and Gas Company, Sepahdar Abbaszadeh, made the remarks, adding the previous highest record of daily gas production, 706 mcm/d, was registered last year.
Pars Oil and Gas Company, as the largest gas producer in Iran, manages approximately 40 offshore platforms along with hundreds of production wells and thousands of kilometers of offshore pipelines across an area of 3,700 kilometers of the Iranian section of the largest gas field in the world in the Persian Gulf. The company produces more than 70 percent of the country’s natural gas.
