Resolving Energy Imbalance Needs Overall Cooperation

Former CEO of NIGC emphasizes cooperation among all sectors to address energy imbalance, stating that resolving gasoline and other energy carriers is not solely the Ministry's responsibility.

RoydadNaft –  The former CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) emphasized the necessity of cooperation among all sectors of society to address the energy imbalance, stating that resolving the imbalance of gasoline and other energy carriers is not solely the responsibility of the Ministry of Petroleum and its subsidiaries.

Seyed Reza Kasaeizadeh mentioned that the gas imbalance is partly due to the lack of balance between production and consumption and partly due to the increasing number of natural gas consumers.

He stressed the need to update technology in the gas and refining industry and added that consumers should prioritize energy conservation to help the country overcome this crisis.

The former CEO of NIGC noted that 70% of the country’s energy mix depends on natural gas and emphasized that diversifying the country’s energy mix and moving towards renewable energies instead of hydrocarbon fuels are among the effective solutions to address the energy imbalance challenge.

Kasaeizadeh identified the increase in outdated vehicles, low power plant efficiency, and other factors as significant contributors to the energy imbalance in the country, asserting that addressing the energy imbalance is not confined to the oil industry and that all institutions and sectors of society must collaborate to resolve this challenge.
