RoydadNaft –   The Director of Exploration of National Iranian Oil Company said: The presence of oil shale in Qalikouh region of Aligudarz is a great success for the Islamic Republic, which will enter Iran into the oil shale market for the first time.

Mehdi Fekur said today, November 9, on the sidelines of his visit to the oil field of Aligudarz city, that there are 2 types of oil shales, which are underground, where wells must be dug up to a depth of 1,200 meters and extracted using very expensive methods. Extracted also brings 30 to 40 dollars of added value to be economic extraction, but God has given us this blessing on earth in this area.

He stated: field investigations and laboratory works with the participation of Tehran Petroleum Institute have been completed, the laboratory sample was successful and the method was also found that the semi-industrial sample of 10 kilos continuously produced oil, oil condensate and gas.

The Director of Exploration of the National Iranian Oil Company noted: In cities like Ahvaz, we have to drill to a depth of 2,500 meters to reach the oil, while in this area of Qalikowe, Aligudarz, the same oil is on the ground.

Fekur added: 15 years of study and field work have been done in this area of Aliguderz city, and various trekking teams have been present in this area and have done the necessary sampling and tests so that the result is the ability to harvest from this Rosmine field.

He said: There are 2 methods of oil extraction in this area, one of which is mineral extraction, which must be extracted from mines on the ground.

The Director of Exploration of National Iranian Oil Company continued: The other method is industrial in oil processes, which should be done, but the researchers of exploration and oil institute have found a new method that is suitable for Iranian oil shales and will be registered globally.

Fekur stated: The semi-industrial factory was built in this way and it is harvesting oil, condensate and gas with it, which has a very high price in the international economy and will be a good economic help for the country, and it is expected that it will help the country in terms of oil, gas and Self-sufficient gas condensate.

He clarified: While the efforts started 15 years ago, this happened in the 13th government because they put a lot of effort into this until the semi-industrial factory was built, which we did not have before.

The exploration manager of National Iranian Oil Company noted: Aerial and satellite photos are needed to make economic estimates of these shales, and speculations have been made up to a depth of 300 meters and a well has been dug.

Fakour added: We hope that in the next two to three months, the technical and economic report will be given to us through the Petroleum Institute of Tehran University, and operational measures will begin.

He stated: The remaining waste from these shales is very pure and friendly to nature and the environment, and this waste can be used in various industries such as cement or returned to its original place as soil.

The exploration manager of National Iranian Oil Company continued: The employment generation of these oil shales for the region is directly, indirectly and three-fold, it is predicted that about three thousand people will be employed, which will definitely be a priority for the local forces of the region.
