India becomes Petrobras’s third-largest international oil market
RoydadNaft – India is already the third-largest consumer market for the oil exported by Petrobras, behind China and Europe.
In the fourth quarter of 2025, the Asian country absorbed 12% of the Brazilian state-owned company’s crude oil exports, while China accounted for 52% and Europe for 13%, according to Petrobras’s production and sales report released on February 10.
India was ahead of the rest of Asia (10%), Latin America (8%), the US (3%) and South Africa (2%).
Until the third quarter, the Indian market did not appear separately and remained grouped with the rest of Asia (excluding China).
The trend is for India to maintain a prominent position, given the renewal and expansion of contracts with the main local state-owned refiners in January 2026.
“The contracts strengthen our presence in the Indian market and contribute to the diversification of our portfolio of oil export clients. We are committed to strengthening strategic partnerships, expanding our global operations and generating value for Brazil,” stated Claudio Schlosser, Petrobras’ director of logistics, marketing and markets, in the report.
