Earthquake causes no damage to SP refineries

The spokesperson for the South Pars Gas Complex said an earthquake that struck near the city of Asaluyeh early Sunday caused no damage to the complex’s refineries or facilities, and all production and operational activities are continuing as normal.

RoydadNaft –  The spokesperson for the South Pars Gas Complex said an earthquake that struck near the city of Asaluyeh early Sunday caused no damage to the complex’s refineries or facilities, and all production and operational activities are continuing as normal.

According to the South Pars Gas Complex, Ebrahim Abbasi said the earthquake occurred Sunday (Feb. 1) in the Asaluyeh area. He said specialized technical and safety teams immediately conducted field inspections and expert assessments of all refineries and auxiliary facilities, confirming that no damage or disruption to gas production or transmission was observed.

Abbasi emphasized the complex’s full preparedness to handle emergency situations, noting that all safety, HSE and passive defense requirements have been strictly observed and that continuous monitoring of facilities is ongoing.

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck Asaluyeh in Bushehr Province early Sunday. The quake occurred at a depth of 18 kilometers.
