Fuel price reform revenue to be returned to public: President
RoydadNaft – President Masoud Pezeshkian said all revenue generated from the fuel price reform plan will be spent entirely on improving people’s livelihoods and that not a single rial may be used for other government purposes.
According to president.ir, the Cabinet’s 136th meeting was held Sunday with Pezeshkian presiding. During the session, ministers approved the general outlines of the national budget bill for the Iranian year 1405, stressing that all proceeds from fuel price reform must be directed to household welfare.
The Plan and Budget Organization presented a comprehensive report on the 1405 budget, including details, key features, projected revenues and expenditures for the coming year. After review, Cabinet members approved the bill’s general framework.
The Cabinet also approved the executive bylaw for Paragraph (b) of Article 19 of the Law on Removing Barriers to Production and reviewed and amended several previous government decisions that had drawn objections from the parliament’s law conformity board.
In another part of the meeting, the head of the Planning and Budget Organization briefed the Cabinet on progress in organizing fuel cards and the management measures taken in that area.
Pezeshkian thanked those involved in implementing the plan and reiterated that all revenue from the fuel price reform will be spent in full to improve people’s livelihoods, with no funds diverted elsewhere.
