Fajr-e Jam Gas Refinery Completes Iran’s First Fully Domestic Incinerator

Iran’s Fajr-e Jam Gas Refining Company has successfully designed, fabricated and installed the country’s first industrial waste incinerator entirely with in-house expertise, marking a new milestone in domestic engineering for the critical energy sector.

RoydadNaft –  The Fajr-e Jam Gas Refinery, one of Iran’s largest gas processing complexes, announced on Thursday that its maintenance team has completed construction and on-site installation of the facility’s first-ever incinerator using 100% domestic capabilities.

Seyyed Mahdi Mousavian-Fard, head of the refinery’s maintenance department, said every phase — from plate rolling, initial assembly, precision welding and dimensional control to heavy-lift transportation and final positioning — was carried out by Iranian engineers and technicians without foreign involvement.

“The rebuilt segments were precisely matched with the existing structure, and all lifting, rigging and unloading operations were completed in full compliance with safety standards,” Mousavian-Fard added.

The incinerator has now been positioned at its permanent foundation and is ready for the next stages: refractory brick lining, installation of dampers and burners, and final commissioning and operational testing.

The project is seen as a significant step toward self-sufficiency in specialized equipment for Iran’s strategic gas industry, reducing reliance on imported technology at a time of tightened sanctions. Fajr-e Jam processes approximately 60 million cubic metres of sour gas per day from the South Pars and Nar-Kangan fields, making it a cornerstone of the country’s gas supply chain.
