Uzbekistan, Iran sign 18 agreements on cooperation

Uzbekistan and Iran signed 18 documents in various areas of cooperation as a result of Uzbek-Iranian high-level talks, the presidential press service reported.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi signed a Joint Statement, which consolidates the main agreements and defines long-term tasks for further development of multifaceted cooperation.

The following documents were signed:

– agreement on visa procedures simplification for representatives of business and scientific circles and tourist groups

– agreement on visa waiver for holders of diplomatic passports

– program of cooperation in tourism for 2022-2025

– memorandum of understanding in the spheres of science, technology, and innovation

– memorandum on the exchange of digital customs information on the movement of goods and vehicles across the customs border

– memorandum on the exchange of digital information regarding E-TIR

– memorandum of cooperation in the fields of science, research, education and technology

– memorandum on environmental issues and protection,agreement between ministries of agriculture

– memorandum of cooperation in the field of healthcare, treatment, research, education, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment

– memorandum of cooperation in sports, memorandum of cooperation in the fields of oil, gas and petrochemistry

– memorandum on the international cargo transportation and transit through the Chabahar port

– program of cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2022-2024

– memorandum on issues of employment and labor relations.

The Institute of Oriental Studies named after Abu Raykhon Beruni of Uzbekistan and the Organization of the Archive and the National Library of Iran signed documents, as well as the of Ibn Sina Funds of the two countries.
