The Fifth Refinery of the South Pars Gas Complex has commenced its scheduled major overhaul for the year 1404 (2025), beginning in the early hours of July 22 and continuing through August 9. According to Kambiz Saffati, Director of the Fifth Refinery, all overhaul operations are being carried out relying entirely on domestic engineering expertise and high-quality, locally manufactured equipment.

Saffati stated that the primary goals of the overhaul include enhancing production processes, improving operational safety, and fulfilling the directives of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic.

As reported by Roydad Naft, a total of 2,114 work orders have been planned within the scope of this overhaul — comprising 13 corrective tasks, 1,389 preventive tasks, and 712 unplanned/emergency tasks. The volume and diversity of the work orders underscore the extensive and complex nature of this year’s maintenance operations.
