RoydadNaft –   The U.S. Treasury Department on Wednesday imposed sanctions on more than a dozen organizations and vessels over their involvement in Iranian crude oil and liquefied petroleum gas shipments to Syria and East Asia.

Four vessels associated with the fleet of Syrian shipping tycoon Abdul Jalil Mallah, who has been under U.S. sanctions since 2021, and his brother Luay al-Mallah were among the vessels hit by the restrictions on Wednesday, the U.S. Treasury Department said in a statement.

According to the U.S. Treasury Department, the brothers “continued to use their shipping empire to support Iran’s malign activities and proxies.” “Iran continues to rely heavily on the illicit sale of oil and liquefied petroleum gas to the IRGC and Lebanese Hezbollah to fund its terrorist groups and destabilizing activities,” Bradley Smith, acting U.S. Treasury Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, said in a statement.
