{"id":7848,"date":"2023-09-25T14:36:49","date_gmt":"2023-09-25T14:36:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=7848"},"modified":"2023-09-25T14:36:49","modified_gmt":"2023-09-25T14:36:49","slug":"erdogan-aliyev-attend-foundation-laying-for-nakhchivan-gas-pipeline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/7848\/","title":{"rendered":"Erdo\u011fan, Aliyev attend foundation-laying for Nakhchivan Gas Pipeline"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\"><p><span class=\"pre-content-text\"><a style=\"color: #0038a8;\" href=\"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/\">RoydadNaft &#8211; <\/a><\/span>\u00a0President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev attended the groundbreaking ceremony Monday for a new natural gas pipeline that will run from T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s eastern province of I\u011fdir to Sederek in Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"55\">The new 85-kilometer (53-mile) gas pipeline will run from the country\u2019s easternmost province of I\u011fd\u0131r to Sederek in Azerbaijan, with an annual capacity of 500 million cubic meters (mcm) and a daily capacity of 1.5 mcm.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"60\">The project will be realized through a partnership between T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s crude oil and natural gas pipeline trading company BOTA\u015e and Azerbaijan\u2019s state oil company SOCAR.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"61\">The Azerbaijani president, in his speech, highlighted the importance of the project, recalling that Nakchivan stayed deprived of gas for some 15 years before it inked an agreement with Iran for supply.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"66\">The strategic territory does not share a border with Azerbaijan but has been tied to Baku since the 1920s \u2013 and is located between Armenia, T\u00fcrkiye and Iran.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"67\">Regarding the cooperation with T\u00fcrkiye in different sectors, including energy, Aliyev noted that trade volume between the two countries extended the figure of $6 billion (TL 163 billion).<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"68\">\u201cIt increased by 40% this year. We have placed the target of $15 billion. We will reach this in the near future,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"69\">President Erdo\u011fan, for his part, noted that Nakhchivan nowadays carries excellent potential in economy, transportation, and energy lines.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"74\">\u201cWith the establishment of regional transportation lines, we will have the opportunity to fully realize this potential,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"75\">\u201c(The I\u011fd\u0131r-Nakhchivan Natural Gas Line) will deepen our partnership with Azerbaijan in the field of energy and will also contribute to Europe\u2019s energy supply security,\u201d the president further noted.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"76\">A total of three agreements were signed between Azerbaijan and T\u00fcrkiye during the one-day official state visit.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"77\">President Erdo\u011fan and his counterpart Aliyev signed the \u201cProtocol of Intent between the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye and the Republic of Azerbaijan on the Kars-Nakhchivan Railway Project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"78\">Meanwhile, T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet \u00d6zhaseki and Chairperson of the Azerbaijan City Planning and Architecture State Committee Anar Guliyev inked an agreement between two governments on the \u201cConstruction of Residential Buildings, Primary Schools, Kindergartens and Cultural Centers in the Kahramanmara\u015f Province of the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"79\">The two countries also signed an agreement that includes the continuation of the existing cooperation on electrical energy.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"80\">\u201cBesides the Kars-Nakhchivan Railway Project, agreements on mass housing and electrical energy have just been signed.
