{"id":7501,"date":"2023-09-08T12:49:51","date_gmt":"2023-09-08T12:49:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=7501"},"modified":"2023-09-08T14:03:12","modified_gmt":"2023-09-08T14:03:12","slug":"canadian-natural-expects-trans-mountain-expansion-project-to-be-delayed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/7501\/","title":{"rendered":"Canadian Natural expects Trans Mountain expansion project to be delayed"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\">\n<p>Roydad Naft News Agency &#8211; Canadian Natural Resources Ltd, a major shipper on the Trans Mountain oil pipeline expansion (TMX), expects the project will be delayed until at least the second quarter of 2024, the company said in a letter to Canadian regulators on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trans Mountain Corp (TMC), the Canadian government-owned corporation building the long-delayed project, has said the expanded pipeline will start shipping oil late in the first quarter of next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Canadian Natural said it expected the pipeline&#8217;s start date to be delayed because TMC is asking regulators for a route deviation on a 1.3-km (0.8 mile) section just south of Kamloops, British Columbia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Although Canadian Natural hopes for an earlier Commencement Date, unfortunately, it is probable that the Commencement Date will be delayed into Q2 or later in 2024,&#8221; the letter to the Canada Energy Regulator (CER) said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TMC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TMX will treble the flow of oil sands crude from Alberta to Canada&#8217;s Pacific Coast to 890,000 barrels per day, but the expansion has been dogged by years of regulatory delays and environmental opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was bought by the Canadian government in 2018 to ensure it got built, but has seen costs quadruple to C$30.9 billion.
