{"id":7273,"date":"2023-08-28T12:42:26","date_gmt":"2023-08-28T12:42:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=7273"},"modified":"2023-08-28T12:42:26","modified_gmt":"2023-08-28T12:42:26","slug":"iraq-launches-major-gas-project-at-basra-oilfield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/7273\/","title":{"rendered":"Iraq launches major gas project at Basra oilfield"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\">\n<p>Roydad Naft News Agency &#8211; Amid a massive push to expand its hydrocarbon production,\u00a0Iraq\u00a0has launched a project at a key oilfield to tap its associated gas reserves for use as feedback for its power facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Halfaya Gas Company, an affiliate of the Iraqi Raban Al-Safina Group, is developing Nahr bin Omar field in the Southern oil hub of Basra,&nbsp;<em>Zawya<\/em>reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project, which was launched on Sunday, involves the production of 150 million cubic feet a day (cf\/d) of gas in phase 1, to rise later to 300 million cf\/d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe field has a production capacity of 400,000-500,000 bpd of oil\u2026.it will produce 300 cf\/d of gas when the project is completed,\u201d project manager Munir Abu Aziz said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aziz said around 120 million cf\/d would be used for power generation, adding that this would allow Iraq to reduce reliance on gas imports from Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Discovered in 1948, Nahr bin Omar Field has proven oil deposits of around 6.6 billion barrels, according to Iraqi estimates.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-date no-social-btn post-updated\">Updated on<time class=\"updated dt-updated\" itemprop=\"dateModified\" datetime=\"2023-08-28T12:42:26+00:00\"> 28 August 2023<\/time><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Roydad Naft News Agency &#8211; Amid a massive push to expand its hydrocarbon production,\u00a0Iraq\u00a0has launched a project at a key oilfield to tap its associated gas reserves for use as feedback for its power facilities.
