{"id":6826,"date":"2023-08-03T12:50:37","date_gmt":"2023-08-03T12:50:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=6826"},"modified":"2023-08-03T12:50:39","modified_gmt":"2023-08-03T12:50:39","slug":"india-says-petrochina-other-global-oil-companies-keen-to-build-sprs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/6826\/","title":{"rendered":"India says Petrochina, other global oil companies keen to build SPRs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\">\n<p>According to Roydad Naft News Agency &#8211; Chinese oil major Petrochina is among global companies that have shown interest in building new strategic petroleum reserves (SPRs) in India, the country&#8217;s junior oil minister said on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During two roadshows held to seek private investment for building the SPRs, global companies, including BP, Shell\u00a0and traders Trafigura, Vitol, Glencore, Vopak\u00a0and KNOC showed interest, Rameswar Teli said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>India, the world&#8217;s third-biggest oil importer and consumer, has 5.55 million tonnes of crude reserves at three locations in southern India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021, the Indian cabinet approved building two more SPRs with the help of private companies &#8211; a 6.5 million-tonne facility at Chandikhol in easter Odisha state and a 2.5 million-tonne cavern at Padure in southern Karnataka state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SPRs would be owned by the federal government.
