{"id":6694,"date":"2023-07-23T13:56:17","date_gmt":"2023-07-23T13:56:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=6694"},"modified":"2023-07-23T14:01:56","modified_gmt":"2023-07-23T14:01:56","slug":"yemen-says-wont-transfer-oil-revenues-to-saudi-bank","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/6694\/","title":{"rendered":"Yemen says won\u2019t transfer oil revenues to Saudi bank"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\">\n<p>Roydad Naft News Agency &#8211; Sana\u2019a has rejected a proposal by Riyadh to transfer oil and gas revenues to the Saudi National Bank in return for the kingdom to pay public sector wages in Yemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mahdi al-Mashat, the head of Yemen\u2019s Supreme Political Council, held the United States responsible&nbsp;for the hurdles created by Saudi Arabia in paying salaries&nbsp;of civil servants in the areas controlled by the Ansarullah movement,&nbsp;Yemen\u2019s al-Masirah television network reported&nbsp;on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat the Saudis want is to loot our oil wealth, transfer it to the Saudi National Bank, and give charity money to our employees, something that is dismissed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGod willing, we will try to pay the salaries in the future and we will win them back from the enemy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mashat also urged Washington not to make enemies among more than 10 million Yemeni public sector workers by preventing the payment of their wages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, Riyadh proposed to pay the salaries of Yemeni civil servants for one year in Saudi Riyals in exchange for the extension of a ceasefire and the resumption of Yemeni oil exports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yemen, however, wants to restore control over its own resources, saying the country\u2019s oil revenues are enough to pay the salaries of all public sector workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with its Arab allies and with arms and logistics support from the US and other Western states, launched a devastating war on Yemen in March 2015.
