{"id":6275,"date":"2023-06-28T13:03:54","date_gmt":"2023-06-28T13:03:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=6275"},"modified":"2023-06-28T13:06:48","modified_gmt":"2023-06-28T13:06:48","slug":"norway-approves-more-than-18-billion-in-oil-gas-investments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/6275\/","title":{"rendered":"Norway approves more than $18 billion in oil, gas investments"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\">\n<p>Roydad Naft News Agency &#8211; Norway&#8217;s government said on Wednesday it has given approval for oil companies to develop 19 oil and gas fields with investments exceeding 200 billion Norwegian crowns ($18.51 billion), part of the country&#8217;s strategy to extend production for decades to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Norway&#8217;s parliament in 2020 introduced temporary tax incentives to encourage petroleum investment at a time of low activity, triggering a rush of applications from energy companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the field developments receiving final approval on Wednesday were nine operated by Aker BP, three by Equinor and several by Wintershall Dea and OMV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;These are projects that will contribute to a continued high and stable output from Norway&#8217;s continental shelf as well as employment and value creation,&#8221; Minister of Petroleum and Energy Terje Aasland told a news conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Norway&#8217;s petroleum production is fiercely opposed by environmentalists and others concerned that carbon emissions from the burning of oil and gas contributes to climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government says Norway&#8217;s oil and gas resources are essential to Europe&#8217;s\u00a0energy securityand will be needed for decades to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Norway last year overtook Russia as Europe&#8217;s biggest gas supplier after Moscow cut supplies amid the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>($1 = 10.8064 Norwegian crowns)<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-date no-social-btn post-updated\">Updated on<time class=\"updated dt-updated\" itemprop=\"dateModified\" datetime=\"2023-06-28T13:06:48+00:00\"> 28 June 2023<\/time><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Roydad Naft News Agency &#8211; Norway&#8217;s government said on Wednesday it has given approval for oil companies to develop 19 oil and gas fields with investments exceeding 200 billion Norwegian crowns ($18.51 billion), part of the country&#8217;s strategy to extend production for decades to come.
