{"id":5892,"date":"2023-06-08T14:44:34","date_gmt":"2023-06-08T14:44:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=5892"},"modified":"2023-06-08T14:47:02","modified_gmt":"2023-06-08T14:47:02","slug":"canadian-refiner-irving-oil-launches-strategic-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/5892\/","title":{"rendered":"Canadian refiner Irving Oil launches strategic review"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.offshore-technology.com\/\"><\/a>The consideration of the strategic review includes a new ownership structure, a full or partial sale, or a change in assets portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Canadian company Irving Oil\u00a0has initiated a strategic review of the business\u00a0that will explore \u2018a full or partial sale\u2019, among other options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The privately held company owns the 320,000 barrel per day (bpd) Saint John refinery in New Brunswick, Canada, as well as the 75,000bpd Whitegate refinery in County Cork, Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also operates more than 900 fuelling stations in north-eastern US and in eastern Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Irving Oil said it is assessing several options for its future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a press statement, the company said: \u201cNo decisions have been made about where this strategic review may lead. Considerations will be given to a new ownership structure, a full or partial sale, or a change in the portfolio of our assets and how we operate them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company\u2019s Whitegate refinery is equipped to process light, low-sulphur crude oil, sourced from the North Sea and West Africa. It produces transportation and heating fuels including gasoline, diesel and kerosene for customers across Ireland and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year, Irving Oil selected Anaergia to supply carbon-negative renewable natural gas (RNG) for its operations including the Saint John refinery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anaergia will produce the RNG at its Rhode Island Bioenergy Facility, which is designed to prevent the release of more than 40,000 metric tonnes per year of carbon dioxide-equivalent greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the partnership, Irving Oil president Ian Whitcomb said: \u201cWe are making strides in achieving our 2030 goal of a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions as we shift to lower-carbon energies.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-date no-social-btn post-updated\">Updated on<time class=\"updated dt-updated\" itemprop=\"dateModified\" datetime=\"2023-06-08T14:47:02+00:00\"> 8 June 2023<\/time><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The consideration of the strategic review includes a new ownership structure, a full or partial sale, or a change in assets portfolio.
