{"id":5755,"date":"2023-06-01T13:04:00","date_gmt":"2023-06-01T13:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=5755"},"modified":"2023-06-01T13:05:12","modified_gmt":"2023-06-01T13:05:12","slug":"owji-irans-gas-debt-to-turkmenistan-paid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/5755\/","title":{"rendered":"Owji: Iran\u2019s gas debt to Turkmenistan paid"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\">\n<p>Roydad Naft News Agency \u2013 Iran\u2019s Oil Minister Javad Owji on Wednesday said his country\u2019s gas debt to Turkmenistan has been cleared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the weekly cabinet meeting, the minister added, \u201cThe 13th (incumbent) administration has made every effort since it took office to pay the debt Iran owed to Turkmenistan for gas imports in the previous governments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFortunately, the debt was fully paid in three installments over the past 20 months.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Iran and Turkmenistan have held talks since the 13th administration took over, said Owji, continuing, \u201cDuring my first visit to Turkmenistan in 2021, the gas swap contract was followed up, and the volume of gas delivery from Iran to Azerbaijan doubled in 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He expressed hope that gas trade \u2013 imports, exports, swap, and transit \u2013 will increase after holding negotiations and signing new memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and contracts with Turkmenistan and other neighboring states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Iran-Oman oil MoUs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister said Iran-Oman oil MoUs have been discussed for more than 20 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Owji added the two countries agreed to study exploration and development of their shared Hengam oil field in a joint specialized working group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe will firstly conduct studies on the field, and its development will be followed later,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-date no-social-btn post-updated\">Updated on<time class=\"updated dt-updated\" itemprop=\"dateModified\" datetime=\"2023-06-01T13:05:12+00:00\"> 1 June 2023<\/time><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Roydad Naft News Agency \u2013 Iran\u2019s Oil Minister Javad Owji on Wednesday said his country\u2019s gas debt to Turkmenistan has been cleared.
