Iran\u2019s oil minister said the participation of 200 foreign companies in the 27th Iran \u200eInternational Oil, Gas, \u200eRefining and \u200ePetrochemical Exhibition, also known as Iran Oil Show \u200e\u200e2023, is \u200eindicative of the effective promotion of energy diplomacy by the incumbent administration. \u200e<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Javad Owji made the remarks in an address to the opening ceremony of the Iran Oil Show \u200e\u200e2023 in the \u200eIranian capital Tehran on Wednesday, which was attended by Iran\u2019s First Vice President Mohammad \u200eMokhber, Science, \u200eResearch and Technology Minister Mohammad-Ali Zolfigol, CEO of the National Iranian \u200eOil Company \u200e\u200e(NIOC) Mohsen Khojastehmehr, Syrian Oil Minister Firas Hassan Kaddour, a number of the \u200eIranian \u200eParliament\u2019s members as well as other Iranian officials and senior oil industry directors.\u200e
Owji said the scopes and importance of Iran Oil Show \u200e\u200e2023 are far beyond those of a normal exhibition \u200eevent as it has provided the ground for cooperation among the Iranian and foreign individuals and \u200ecompanies involved in the oil industry.\u200e
He added the great event is, as a matter of fact, among the biggest exhibitions in the Middle East and the \u200eworld, which has been held with greater prosperity year after year despite the cruel sanctions imposed on \u200eIran\u2019s oil and gas industry. \u200e
The minister said in the exhibition, domestic and foreign firms, contractors, investors, constructors, \u200eknowledge-based companies and academic centers involved in the oil and gas industry\u2019s upstream and \u200edownstream sectors present their needs and challenges and prepare the ground for holding negotiations \u200eand commencing trade cooperation in the future. \u200e
Owji put the number of the domestic firms in the expo at 1,500, listing the countries whose firms have \u200etaken part in the event as Russia, China, Belarus, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, India, the UAE, \u200eOman and T\u00fcrkiye. \u200e
He hailed the greater participation in this year\u2019s exhibition compared to the previous ones, saying the \u200enumbers of the domestic and foreign firms taking part in the present edition have increased by 35 and 100 \u200epercent respectively.\u200e
Owji pointed to the presence of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, who arrived in Iran on \u200eTuesday on a \u200etwo-day visit at the head of a trade delegation, and Russian companies in the exhibition, \u200esaying Iran has extensive cooperation with Russian firms.\u200e
He stressed that the presence of the Russian delegation in Iran is indicative of the depth of the two \u200ecountries\u2019 cooperation in the oil and gas sectors, adding business-to-business (B2B) meetings are being \u200eheld between Iranian and \u200eRussian firms on the sidelines of the exhibition. \u200e

Reserves, production \u200e<\/strong>

The minister noted that Iran sits on the world\u2019s largest oil and gas reserves combined, saying the country\u2019s \u200erecoverable oil reserves stand at 154 billion barrels, and its gas reserves are about 33 trillion cubic meters. \u200e
He emphasized that in the light of the incumbent administration\u2019s measures, the country\u2019s production of \u200eoil, gas, petroleum products and petrochemicals will continue reflecting a growing trend in the coming \u200eyears as before. \u200e
The minister noted that despite the intensification of the cruel sanctions, Iran has so far set favorable \u200erecords in the production and exports of crude oil, condensates, petroleum products and \u200epetrochemicals. \u200e
Owji said Iran currently produces 3 million barrels per day of oil and 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas \u200edaily, putting the country\u2019s daily oil refining capacity at 2.4 million barrels.\u200e
The minister said the country\u2019s capacity of producing petrochemicals stands at 95 million tons per annum, \u200egiving the assurance that measures have been devised to prevent the cruel sanctions from depriving Iran of \u200ethe maximum development of its oil and gas industry. \u200e
He added Iran is self-sufficient in all oil industry sectors, noting that in parallel with boosting its production \u200ecapacity, the country has pursued increasing its exports, proof of which is the twofold growth in the \u200eoverseas sales of crude oil and condensate since the beginning of the incumbent administration\u2019s term in \u200eoffice in August 2021, despite the intensification of the cruel sanctions on Tehran.\u200e

Investments welcome \u200e<\/strong>

He voiced Iran\u2019s readiness for attracting domestic and foreign investors, saying close to \u20ac160 billion in \u200einvestment opportunities have been created in the Iranian oil industry\u2019s upstream and downstream sectors.\u200e
Among the Iranian participants in the expo, whose motto is \u201cOil Industry; Technological Production, \u200eOptimal Consumption\u201d, are the officials of NIOC, National Petrochemical Company, National Iranian Gas \u200e\u200eCompany, National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, Iranian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical \u200e\u200eProducts Exporters\u2019 Union, Iranian Petroleum Industries Equipment Manufacturers Association and Iran \u200e\u200eIndustrial Equipment Manufacturers Association, and representatives of knowledge-based firms, \u200e\u200etechnology parks and startups.  \u200e
The exhibition will be open to visitors every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (0530 to 1330 GMT) until \u200eSaturday. \u200e<\/p>\n
