{"id":538,"date":"2022-07-04T16:35:32","date_gmt":"2022-07-04T16:35:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=538"},"modified":"2022-07-04T16:35:35","modified_gmt":"2022-07-04T16:35:35","slug":"australia-india-strengthen-clean-energy-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/538\/","title":{"rendered":"Australia, India strengthen clean energy deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\">\n<p>Australia and India on Monday agreed to a partnership to strengthen their co-operation in developing critical metal projects and supply chains, Australia&#8217;s resources minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Demand for critical metals like lithium and cobalt has soared in recent times due to their usage in electric vehicles amid a global push towards cleaner sources of energy to tackle climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, countries like the United States, Australia and India are pushing to develop new sources of critical minerals to counteract China&#8217;s dominance over those supply chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Madeleine King said Australia would commit A$5.8 million ($3.98 million) towards a three-year investment partnership, while signing an agreement between critical minerals firm Khanij Bidesh India Ltd and the Critical Minerals Facilitation Office of Australia (CMFO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both the Indian company and CMFO will jointly fund a due diligence study in lithium and cobalt mineral assets of Australia with an initial amount of $6 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Once the due diligence is completed and potential projects are identified, we will explore investment opportunities through different methods as envisaged in the MoU (memorandum of understanding),&#8221; said minister King.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>($1 = A$1.46)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reporting by Jaskiran Singh<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-date no-social-btn post-updated\">Updated on<time class=\"updated dt-updated\" itemprop=\"dateModified\" datetime=\"2022-07-04T16:35:35+00:00\"> 4 July 2022<\/time><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Australia and India on Monday agreed to a partnership to strengthen their co-operation in developing critical metal projects and supply chains, Australia&#8217;s resources minister said.
