{"id":5127,"date":"2023-05-01T13:09:20","date_gmt":"2023-05-01T13:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=5127"},"modified":"2023-05-01T13:10:53","modified_gmt":"2023-05-01T13:10:53","slug":"gap-between-real-petrochemical-output-installed-capacity-to-be-narrowed-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/5127\/","title":{"rendered":"Gap between real petrochemical output, installed capacity to be narrowed this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\">\n<p>Iran\u2019s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) managing director on Monday said the gap between the industry\u2019s real output and installed capacity will be reduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delivering his opening speech at the 14th Iran Petrochemical Forum (IPF), Morteza Shahmirzaei added, \u201cWe intend to follow the Leader\u2019s guidelines by boosting production and curbing prices and inflation, the first part of slogan of the year [Inflation Control, Production Growth].\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1978, Iran\u2019s annual petrochemical output stood at just 1.5 million tons, he recalled, adding the country\u2019s production capacity has now reached 93 million tons despite sanctions and international restrictions. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NPC head vowed that domestic production capacity will be more than double within 10-12 years, when nearly 110 projects become operational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He put great emphasis on avoiding selling raw materials and added, \u201cIran is currently producing more than 550 types of chemicals and polymers and will be self-sufficient in producing catalysts and chemical materials by the end of incumbent administration\u2019s term.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Shahmirzaei, Iran has reached over 80 percent self-sufficiency for products and equipment and is a pioneer in many fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have planned to become fully self-sufficient in petrochemical industry,\u201d pledged the NPC CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also said domestic petrochemical industry has shone in fetching the country hard currency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Forum topics<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Focusing on value chain and new opportunities, the two-day forum will revolve around eight topics, said Shahmirzaei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The forum\u2019s subjects are \u201cFeedstock, products and supply chain\u201d; \u201cSolutions and advanced optimization technologies\u201d; \u201cIntegration and coordination between petrochemical and refining complexes\u201d; \u201cProduction process and market\u201d; \u201cMethanol market and its roles\u201d; \u201cGlobal energy crisis and future of petrochemical industry\u201d; \u201cInvestment and financial supply opportunities\u201d; and \u201cEnergy optimization and production without pollution\u201d, he mentioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NPC chief also said workshops will be held to discuss \u201ccompounding and value chain\u201d, \u201capplied project models in petrochemical industry\u201d, \u201cpetrochemical projects in Iran: challenges and opportunities\u201d, and \u201ccarbon management strategy for petrochemical industry\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The participants in the 14th edition of IPF, the NPC head continued, will also exchange views on \u201cpetrochemical hubs and parks\u201d, \u201cdevelopment projects and investment in these projects\u201d and \u201cexploiting modern technologies\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experts and industrialists from more than 15 countries have participated in the forum. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-date no-social-btn post-updated\">Updated on<time class=\"updated dt-updated\" itemprop=\"dateModified\" datetime=\"2023-05-01T13:10:53+00:00\"> 1 May 2023<\/time><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Iran\u2019s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) managing director on Monday said the gap between the industry\u2019s real output and installed capacity will be reduced.
