{"id":3241,"date":"2023-01-23T15:10:52","date_gmt":"2023-01-23T15:10:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=3241"},"modified":"2023-01-23T15:10:54","modified_gmt":"2023-01-23T15:10:54","slug":"shell-to-offer-additional-gas-delivery-for-australian-customers-in-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/3241\/","title":{"rendered":"Shell to offer additional gas delivery for Australian customers in 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\">\n<p>Shell Plc\u00a0(SHEL.L)\u00a0said on Monday its QGC business, which develops methane reserves within Queensland, planned to offer additional gas for the Australian market, amounting to about 8 petajoules (PJ) for delivery in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shell&#8217;s offer comes on the heels of a\u00a0legislation passed by the Australian government that set a price cap on natural gas, which will apply to new wholesale gas sales by east coast producers for one year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The price cap provision, which met with fierce opposition from suppliers in Australia&#8217;s east coasts market including global major Exxon Mobil Corp\u00a0(XOM.N)\u00a0and Shell, was placed at A$12 ($8.40) per gigajoule (GJ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gas producers and analysts have warned that the new law will lead to market chaos, with producers already\u00a0with holding\u00a0supply offers while they assess its impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The volume is in addition to the 20 PJ gas offered domestically since December 2022, at or below A$12\/GJ, of which over 13PJ has been contracted, Shell said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Highlighting the need for a policy environment that encourages new supplies in &#8220;close proximity to the demand point&#8221;, the company added, &#8220;squeezing gas from the north to the south is neither a sustainable nor an affordable way to supply customers in southern markets.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on current production forecasts, the company added that its unit is anticipating the availability of additional gas for delivery to domestic customers as the year progresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>($1 = 1.4290 Australian dollars)<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-date no-social-btn post-updated\">Updated on<time class=\"updated dt-updated\" itemprop=\"dateModified\" datetime=\"2023-01-23T15:10:54+00:00\"> 23 January 2023<\/time><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Shell Plc\u00a0(SHEL.L)\u00a0said on Monday its QGC business, which develops methane reserves within Queensland, planned to offer additional gas for the Australian market, amounting to about 8 petajoules (PJ) for delivery in 2023.
